The beauty of photoshop..

July 11th, 2008 by April

I had posted earlier about sunset pictures that I had taken and there was one where phone wires got in the way. My uncle Al was nice enough to use photoshop to remove the wires. I have put both pictures below (one is more the read more).

Searching for an answer

July 8th, 2008 by Ken Frazza

Good morning,

I’m off this week and just relaxing and working at getting my butt back into the shape I want it to be in. A change from the norm is healthy and gives me a different look on life. So I find myself looking inward a bit to find the pieces of what is still holding me back from having it all.

Now doing work on ones self is always an amazing journey. It is also unpredictable. Sometimes when you think you have a handle on the answer, you end up in a completely different place and taken by surprise. I learned to not expect anything and yet as a human, we always have expectations.

So I came out of my last seminar with A determined to open my heart and find someone to have a meaningful relationship with. I painted a picture of what it is I am looking for, put my heart into it, and put my belief into my words that I deserve to have it. You know what happened? It showed up.

Just like that? Yes, just like that.

Sunsets

June 27th, 2008 by April

A sunset is one of the coolest/hardest things to photograph. It sinks really fast, sometimes trees or buildings get in way, and it can be especially hard to get when you catch it while your driving (this often happens to me). I recently got some really cool pictures of sunset that I wanted to share.

This one was taken at a Yankee game on 6/18 after a really huge rainstorm took place. It has become one of my new favorite pictures that I have ever taken.

Back On the Job

June 17th, 2008 by Ken Frazza

Hello,

After a brief vacation, I am back on Merlist. The 30 in 30, which turned out to be 29 in 29 because of Mother Nature was a success for me. I was able to stay with my goal and get a post up every day. Now maybe this does not sound like a big feat. It was to me.

Try doing anything that you do not normally do once a day for 30 days. It takes commitment. Also try coming up with something new to write about for 30 days. It’s a challenge. I have a better appreciation of people who blog/write for a living. It takes an effort to put your feelings/thoughts into words every day.

One question I have from all this is did I really have anything to say? I think I did. I’m curious to what others who read this site think. I guess the important thing is that I opened myself up and just put my feelings out in the open for anyone to see. It takes a lot to do this. At least it took a lot for me to do this.

Life is changing for me and I am creating the changes.

For me, it’s turning into “the year of the diamond dog”.

Yahoo and Google, in bed together

June 17th, 2008 by Ken Frazza

Good morning,

Yahoo and Google, perfect together. Interesting article on how Yahoo and Google will be working together.

“Google and Yahoo said Thursday that they had reached an agreement under which Google would deliver ads next to some of Yahoo’s search results and on some of its Web sites in the United States and Canada.”

You can read the article in full at www.nytimes.com. You will have to watch a 5 second advertisement to get to the article.

This article just strengthens my belief that Google’s dominance just continues to grow in the search engine market.

Fathers Day.

June 15th, 2008 by April

Happy Fathers Day to the best dad in the world!

Honestly, this is not an exaggeration. I want to thank my father for everything that he has ever done for me. For my entire life he has given me anything (with the exception of a new cell phone or the resigning of a verizon contract - his worst enemy - which is a whole other story) that I could ever ask for - even if he really did not have the means to get it. He has been a wonderful father to me and my sister and also a community father to anyone who needed one. He is a supportive, fun, loving, and caring father. While he is not perfect he is pretty damn close.

From the time that I was very young it was always the most fun to hang out with my dad. We actually used to cheer and clap when my mom left home (sorry mom, who actually caught us doing this once) because there were no rules with my dad, just fun to be had. These days I live with my dad which has been an experience all on its own (we clean the house together - the bathroom is his job). We check out handbags together (which gets some interesting stares), take pictures of products for his websites, and of course take pictures on random places on whatever adventure we happen to go on. He is always willing to take a ride to go explore somewhere.

He has always said that my sister and I are very important to him (our only competition is the Yankees ;]) and I know that he would do just about anything to make us happy. So I salute you Dad - Thank you for everything you have done for me in the 21 years of my life! I love you!

We piss anywhere man!

June 9th, 2008 by Ken Frazza

Good evening,

So I find myself listening to the Rolling Stones again. The Stones have always been my favorite band and I’ll listen to them for a while and then just kind of put them down. Somehow after a while they end up finding a way back into my life. This time it started a couple of weeks ago when I was at home working all day.

I usually listen to music while working on the computer and pulled an album out to play. One album leads to another and the next thing you know, I’m hooked all over again. So after I posted some lyrics from Jigsaw Puzzle a few hours ago, I went and turned on the TV and picked up the movie Gimme Shelter which is a documentary about the Stones 69 US tour. If you haven’t seen it, I would highly recommend it.

Great footage of them live and the free concert in San Fran at the end is just mind blowing. The end of the 60’s.
